Today Abbie and I departed Portland for Beijing, and we can’t wait for what’s in store! We are doing what her adoption agency calls a “Homeland Tour,” and the coordinator, Lina, was with us when we were handed Abbie in 2005! We will spend 11 days touring her beautiful native country, visiting many sites in Beijing, Xi’an, and Chengdu before ending our time in her province of Anhui. We have been planning and preparing for months (years!), including Abbie’s translation services (see photo). 🙂 I will post here as I can once in-country (we are currently in Vancouver, BC).
